白細胞介素（interleukins, ILs），簡稱白介素，zui初是指由白細胞產生并在白細胞之間起調節作用的細胞因子，均為小分子多肽或糖蛋白類物質。1979年，第二屆淋巴因子專題會議將免疫應答過程中白細胞間相互作用的細胞因子統一命名為白細胞介素，并規定其命名規則。目前至少發現了38個白細胞介素，常用的為IL-2，IL-4，IL-6，IL-12等，它們具有廣泛的生物學活性，在介導細胞免疫、抵抗微生物感染和抗腫瘤方面起著重要的作用。

白介素-1（IL-1）有兩種存在形式，即IL-1α和IL-1β，結合相同受體，它主要來源于單核吞噬細胞，還有淋巴細胞、內皮細胞及角化細胞等。它在低濃度時主要具有免疫調節作用，如協同刺激增強T細胞和APC活性；促B細胞增殖及抗體產生；在高濃度時誘發肝急性期血漿蛋白合成，介導炎癥反應；引起發熱和惡病質狀態。

白介素-2（IL-2）主要由CD4+T細胞產生，CD8+T細胞也可產生，以自分泌和旁分泌方式發揮效應。它的主要功能為：（1）活化CD4+和CD8+T細胞，促細胞因子產生；（2）刺激NK細胞增殖、活化，誘導LAK細胞產生；（3）促活化B細胞增殖及產生抗體；（4）可激活單核-巨噬細胞。

白介素-4（IL-4）主要由Th2細胞產生，其主要功能為（1）刺激B細胞活化、增殖，誘導Ig類別轉換產生IgG1 和IgE，并促進其抗原遞呈；（2）促進Th0細胞向Th2細胞分化；（3）抑制Th1細胞活化、增殖；（4）協同IL-3刺激肥大細胞增殖。

白細胞介素-6（IL-6）主要由Th2細胞產生，也可由單核-巨噬細胞、血管內皮細胞、成纖維細胞產生。它的主要功能為：（1）刺激肝細胞合成急性期血漿蛋白，參與炎癥反應；（2）刺激活化Ｂ細胞的增殖，分泌抗體；（3）協同刺激Ｔ細胞、胸腺細胞和骨髓造血干細胞增殖；（4）促骨髓瘤細胞增殖。

白細胞介素-8（IL-8）主要由單核-巨噬細胞和內皮細胞產生，也可由上皮細胞和成纖維細胞產生。它的主要功能為：（1）對中性粒細胞有強的趨化作用，對嗜酸性粒細胞、嗜堿性粒細胞和淋巴細胞也有趨化作用；（2）活化中性粒細胞，參與炎癥反應。

白細胞介素-10（IL-10）主要由Th2細胞和單核巨噬細胞產生；Ｂ細胞和上皮細胞也可產生。它的主要功能為：（1）抑制巨噬細胞的抗原遞呈和輔助T細胞應答功能；（2）抑制Th0細胞向Th1細胞分化及細胞因子產生；（3）可促B細胞分化增殖。

白細胞介素-12（IL-12）主要由T細胞、B細胞、單核-巨噬細胞產生。它的主要功能為：（1）激活NK細胞；（2）促Th0細胞向Th1細胞分化、增殖；（3）刺激CD8+CTL細胞活化；（4）可協同IL-2誘生LAK細胞。

白細胞介素-18（IL-18）主要來源于單核-巨噬細胞和上皮細胞，能夠刺激活化T細胞產生細胞因子，以及誘導NK細胞的細胞毒作用。

評價白細胞介素在機體內的動態變化水平指標，對了解免疫疾病的發生、發展、轉歸情況及其集體保護性免疫反應動態規律有著重要的意義。檢測白細胞介素在機體水平變化的方法多為ELISA法，此法適用于檢驗各種大分子蛋白質等抗原。
